Types of flooring:-

Solid Plank

Solid Plank is the most popular choice. In most cases it is tongued and grooved on all sides but sometimes this could apply only for the longitude. It can also be bevel edged or square edged. Suitable for any room or subfloor.

Engineered Plank

Engineered Plank has exactly the same appearance as the solid plank but with the difference being that it consists of two layers glued together. The bottom layer in itself is made out of multiple of thin birch ply sheets and the top layer is usually between 5 and 8 mm of solid timber. The purpose is to reduce the tensions that are present in a solid 20mm plank and thereby minimize expansion and contraction. Suitable for any room and recommended for use with underfloor heating.

Flooring - Engineered

Square Edged

Square edged wide boards are meant to bring more character. Larger knots and gaps are part of that character. These plank are wider than any other floor with widths from 5 to 13 inches. There is a definite vintage effect that would suit larger rooms and period houses.
